Laelia anceps is a medium sized, warm growing species from Mexico and Honduras and is found at elevations of 1500 to 5000 feet. It is tolerant of a wide range of temperatures, from below freezing to 100 F and so makes a vigorous, outdoor grower readily naturalizing on trees around the garden. The fragrant flowers are up to 4 inches and range in color from white, to pastels of pink, and finally to purple. This Laelia anceps is a cross between Feathered Flame CHS/AOS x Mendenhall AM/AOS. These are blooming seedlings, pictured is the "Mendenhall AM/AOS" parent.
