Epi. Belmont is the hybrid of Epi. floribundum and Enc. tampensis and often is sold in the marketplace as Epi. floribundum. Belmont is strongly fragrant and an easy grower. Encyclia cordigera is native to Central America and northern South America. The best variety is rosea which has very dark colored purple lips and chocolate petals and sepals. The flowers are up to 3 inches with a wonderful fragrance. It does best with bright light and intermediate temperatures and blooms in the spring to early summer months. Of all the Encyclias, this is one of the best. The resulting hybrid has a captivating fragrance and is an easy grower. These are blooming size divisions
