Dendrobium amethystoglossum is found in Luzon, Philippines at elevations of 4000 plus feet. It isn't a fussy grower having a wide temperature tolerance ranging from cool to warm and partial shade. When in bloom it is quite spectacular with pendant, 6 inch long spikes carrying clusters of 15 to 20 blue and white, fragrant flowers. It appreciates a slight winter rest. These should bloom in one year, near blooming size and are shipped out of pot.
