Epidendrum porpax is found in Central America at elevations 1000 to 4000 feet of elevation in wet forests. They are dwarf, compact growers, quickly forming thick, matted clumps of plants, the leaves being somewhat succulent. The enticing, fragrant flowers are small, about 1 inch and can bloom almost anytime. They do best grown on a mount in full shade under 1200 foot candles with intermediate temperatures, under 90F and a slight dry period during the winter. These are blooming size divisions ready for mounting.
