Stanhopea warscewicziana is found in the wet rain forests of western Panama and Costa Rica at 1500 to 4500 foot elevations. They do not want to dry out and should be grown shady, wet and warm. The flower is large, to 5 inches, strongly fragrant and emerges from the bottom of the plant. They are best grown in a bottomless pot, net pot or mounted. Ours are blooming size and shipped out of pot.
